At workers care we provide the best support to workers with severe injuries such as:
- Brain injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Permanent blindness
We do this by using icare lifetime care's model of service delivery. This model puts people with severe injuries at the centre of all planning and decision making about the services they receive. We’re focused on helping people achieve their goals at home, work and in their community. We do this by using specialised service providers who understand the needs of people with severe injuries.
Workers in the program have their treatment and care needs met under NSW workers compensation legislation through workers care. Their employer’s workers compensation insurance agent continues to manage weekly payments and all other types of compensation.
The workers care program began for workers severely injured from 31 October 2015. Workers who sustained severe workplace injuries before 31 October 2015 will have the management of their treatment and care transferred to workers care between September 2016 and June 2017.
